Nov 4, 2014 Bhaktapur to Lhasa. 8 Travel Days Crossing the Himalayas and Visiting Tibet.

From WIKI Travel:  By road from Kathmandu to Lhasa

"The overland from Kathmandu to Lhasa or from Lhasa to Kathmandu is probably the best known overland itinerary. The road distance of roughly 1000 km is full of stunning views from the subtropical climate of the south side of the Himalayas to passing Everest and other 8000 m peaks. Altitude sickness is a real issue, since you sleep higher than Lhasa from the very first night until arriving in Lhasa. En route are many important cultural and religious sites and monasteries".

When I originally made this 8 day overland journey, and the flight back across the Himalayas,  I made daily written notes in a notebook and took many photos.  I also wrote every evening on an iPad and attempted to upload the drafts of those daily blogs to Google, the host of my blog.  The inet was available - but it was the censored Chinese inet.  The Chinese were extremely concerned about many things we in the west take for granted - freedom of the press, human rights, freedom to move, full net access, etc.

Google was blocked in Tibet and to make a long story short (and quickly gloss over the many obstacles...) the daily blogs were lost.  So I had no electronic documentation of the dozens of hours o electronic (iPad) daily dairies during my Tibet adventure.

I am now creating the narrative for Nov 4, 2013 to Nov. 11, 2014 -  8 days - in May 2015, 5 months after the trip - from maps, my many pages of daily notes. photographs, inet research, etc.  As one of my most memorable travels,  I just had to fill the gap in my travels blog that the lost blogs had created.
