Oct. 19, 2014. Durbar Square, Dattatraya Square in Bhaktapur, Nepal.

Over the last few days I have been looking very closely at paper.  Nepali handmade paper.

It is the coolest paper I have seen (similar to Luang Prabang's elephant dung paper).

The stationary, cards, etc. are absolutely the neatest damned things for sale here.

Next to the Thonka paintings, that is.

Having tea with the owner of Peacock Paper.

Having tea and talking about life, money, family.....and paper.

Toured his paper factory - pulping, drying, screen printing, cutting, binding, etc.  All work done by hand and on equipment that looked like it was from the 1800's.

Namaste...
